novel. in 90.

Ever wanted to write a novel, and by write I mean finish the first draft?

Found the NaNo sprint doesn't work for you?

Elizabeth Bear has started up a new LiveJournal community: Novel In 90. The idea is basic: your 90 days start when you sign up, and you write 3 manuscript pages a day. At the end of 90 days you should have 270 pages, or 67,500 words.

The community icon says it all, right? There's a whole slew of people signed up already. If it sounds good, get to it.

  1. Hey, thanks for the heads up about Australian quotes. Now that I think about it, I've seen that from other Australian subs but I never made the connection. One less mystery in life. Now only 5 million to go 😉

  2. Hey David, welcome to the blog! No worries re the heads-up: I tend to be very aware of the North America/Brit/Aus publishing preferences, from past experience. I've had editors comment snarkily on my spelling and frighteningly, I think they were seriously unaware of the differences between Britglish, Ausglish and Amglish. There's preferring your own system of spelling, and then there's rank ignorance of the field you're working in, 😉 But still, North America is the publishing power, so I cut everyone slack. It's easier on my heartrate that way!
