I acknowledge the Yalukit Willam clan of the Bunurong people of the Kulin nation as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which I live, write and work. I recognise their continued connection to the land and waters of this place.

I also acknowledge the Ngunnawal, Awabakal and Wurundjeri peoples, Traditional Custodians of the lands on which I’ve previously lived.

I pay my respect to Elders past, present, and emerging. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are this nation’s first storytellers. I am grateful for their rich contributions and for their continuing demonstration of the importance of story in creating and protecting the world in which we live.

Always was, always will be.
